With a 学位 in architecture, you help shape the physical world we inhabit, and you ensure that our built environment is sustainable and well-designed. 在我们的 undergraduate 程序, you learn what’s necessary for success in your field — from the creative process fundamental to any architectural design, to the history and theory that fortify design thinking, to the technical concerns that allow buildings to be built.
As a graduate with a B.S. in architecture, you have a range of employment opportunities within the building industry and beyond. However, we encourage you to complete your architectural education by getting your professional 学位, which allows you to become a licensed architect. Students take this next step by simply continuing on in our nationally accredited Master of 拱itecture 程序, which provides the training and credentials needed for licensure.

第一年: 拱itecture Foundations and General University Requirements
During your first year, you will work to satisfy University of Idaho’s core educational requirements and complete preparatory courses for intensive architecture study.
Transfer students: Courses you have already taken may qualify you for advanced placement.
第二年: 应用 to the Pre-Professional 拱itecture Program
Upon completion of your first-year requirements, you will apply to the pre-professional B.S. 拱 程序. Transcripts, completion of first year requirements and grade point average (minimum 2.5 GPA required) are evaluated. Approximately 60 of the most qualified students (including some transfer students) are selected for admission to the pre-professional 程序.
Second Year Application
Year Three: 应用 to the Professional 拱itecture Program
After completing second-year requirements, you are eligible to apply to the professional architecture 程序. A portfolio, transcript and GPA (minimum 2.5 GPA required) are evaluated. Approximately 45 of the most capable applicants are accepted.
Third Year Application
Year Four: 应用 to Graduate Program
B.S. 拱. 学位 Holders
During the fourth year of our 程序, B.S. 拱 students may apply to our graduate 程序. To be successful, students who hope to continue must have maintained a 3.0 GPA in the B.S. 拱. 程序, completed the undergraduate studio sequence, and be competitive with applicants from other schools. Some current students may find that they need to apply for admission to graduate school after their fall term fourth-year studio, which is possible, but requires special permission from the graduate 程序 coordinator.
Continuing Students from the University of Idaho are not required to submit portfolios or letters of reference with their Graduate Application, but must complete a separate application to the Seamless M 拱 Program.
B. I. D. 学位 Holders
During the fourth year of our 程序, B.I.D. students may apply to our graduate 程序. To be successful, students who hope to continue must have maintained a 3.0 GPA in the B.I.D. 程序, completed the undergraduate studio sequence, and be competitive with applicants from other schools.
